Why? Why would you want to Invest in this production?Because
it’s a great Story. One of the greatest of all Stories. Not for nothing
has it lasted 3500 years. After a period
when Musical Theatre struggled to keep its relevancy in a changing world, it has
come roaring back. In an age when musical preferences have become so fragmented,
Musical Theatre has risen Phoenix-like from the ashes to reclaim its place as
one of the few genres that still has Mass Appeal. Hades
and Persephone are such compelling characters that everyone will want to BE in
our boots as they watch. That’s what will put people in the seats, And keep them
coming back. At the present time, The Passion of Persephone
is a work in progress. I’ll say it straight-up: I expect
to find Angels! I would appreciate the
help of someone who can draft a Business Plan, including Levels of Participation
for Investors, and a Projection of when Investors can expect to see a Return. As
you can see, this is a large production, with a very active Chorus. Ideally, I
would like to mount it on stages that are equipped with a trap door, through which
Hades and Persephone can make some of their entrances and exits. My
plan is to complete the bulk of the score by the end of 2007, and to continue
recording demos of highlighted songs during this same time period. I
have already been performing excerpts from the show in live concerts. I expect
to keep on doing this, as well as to recruit a small ensemble to present selected
scenes. In 2008, I plan to locate larger venues and performing
arts groups who can perform larger sections of the work as an entire block of
a program. I also expect to find a Producer and Director
who can commandeer the cast, crew, and promotion, to assemble readings and workshops,
working our way up to full-scale mounted productions in 2009. Excited?
